Our greenhouses are feeling a little claustrophobic this time of year. Tropical plants have arrived such as Hibiscus, Gardenia, Palms, Mandevilla, Dipladenia, Fiddleaf Figs, and more. Our tropical fruit trees such as Lemons, Limes, Olives, and other Citrus have also arrived. Hopefully the cold weather has passed, but wait for temperatures above 50 at night to put your plants outdoors and keep an eye on the weather for frosts! Until the weather improves, annuals, tropicals, or veggies can be kept temporarily in a sunny, warm spot in your home. Western Pennsylvania could experience frosts up until mid-May or later. Newly planted perennials, shrubs, and trees may suffer some mild frost damage on leaves or flowers but should survive.
