Tropical Paradise

Our greenhouses are feeling a little claustrophobic this time of year. Tropical plants have arrived such as Hibiscus, Gardenia, Palms, Mandevilla, Dipladenia, Fiddleaf Figs, and more. Our tropical fruit trees such as Lemons, Limes, Olives, and other Citrus have also arrived. Hopefully the cold weather has passed, but wait for temperatures above 50 at night to put your plants outdoors and keep an eye on the weather for frosts! Until the weather improves, annuals, tropicals, or veggies can be kept temporarily in a sunny, warm spot in your home. Western Pennsylvania could experience frosts up until mid-May or later. Newly planted perennials, shrubs, and trees may suffer some mild frost damage on leaves or flowers but should survive.

Mother’s Day will be here before you know it, and whether you mom is an avid gardener or has a black thumb, Quality Gardens is sure to have the perfect gift for her. We grow thousands of annual hanging baskets for sun or shade in a varying array of sizes, colors, and habits, plus dozens of annual combo planters that are blooming and ready to go! Beautiful Amstel Begonias are a Mother’s Day favorite with long-lasting, vibrant clusters of flowers in oranges, yellows, pinks, reds, and whites. Spruce up the garden with gazing globes, metal garden decor, wind chimes, or outdoor pottery. Give the soothing scents of spring with essential oils & diffusers from rareEssence or perfumes & scented sprays from Cashmere Kiss. Or give Mom a Quality Gardens gift card so she can come pick something out herself!
