Retail Manager/Visual Display Coordinator

Quality Gardens is seeking a creative individual who is passionate about horticulture that can help take our retail operation to the next level.

Overview:

The Quality Gardens Retail Manager/Visual Display Coordinator is responsible for all day-to-day operations in our retail store. The duties included are, but not limited to; staff management, sales performance, customer service, and store upkeep. Along with store management, the retail manager must have a working knowledge of plant materials and an eye for visual display.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Staff management.
    • Recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and development of all retail staff members
    • Delegating daily tasks and responsibilities to retail staff members
  • Sales performance
    • Analyzing and predicting sales
    • Supervising and guiding staff toward maximum performance
  • Financial success
    • Preparing and controlling the store’s budget
    • Scheduling expenditures
    • Monitoring stock levels and purchases
    • Analyzing changes in the market to make adjustments to the product lineup
  • Customer Service
    • Establishing rapport with customers to understand their needs, and providing excellent customer service
    • Dealing with complaints to maintain the store’s reputation
  • Store upkeep and Display coordination
    • Keeping the store clean, organized, and easily shoppable
    • Create inspiring displays that spark an immersive customer experience
    • Ordering and restocking inventory
    • Plan and oversee in-store promotions and displays

Accountability

  • Keeps General Manager promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance, and positive events) and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.
  • Completes job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Working Conditions

  • Hours may vary if the manager must fill in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise (typical work week = 40 hours). Week days and weekends required
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
  • During the summer months, the ability to work in a hot environment for a prolonged period.
  • Know how to operate phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.

About you

  • 3-5 years of retail management experience
  • Inventory control experience
  • Working plant knowledge
  • Positive and upbeat attitude
